Testimony of Ruth Zahavi, born in Lodz, Poland, 1939, regarding her experiences in Piotrkow Trybunalski and Ravensbrueck Zionist family; visits by her father in Eretz Israel. Outbreak of the war; deportation to the Piotrkow Trybunalski Ghetto; Piotrkow Trybunalski Ghetto life including shortages, hunger, cold and "Aktions"; hides in a closet; morning roll-calls; workshops; murder of her grandmother in Treblinka; murder of her father in Buchenwald; death of her older sister in Ravensbrueck; deportation to Ravensbrueck with her mother; camp life including her mother's labor in a laundry; help from women in the barracks to hide the witness, who was a toddler; bribery of the Kapo with diamonds that were smuggled and hidden, in order to obtain food for the witness; infected with tuberculosis disease; severe physical deterioration; liberation by the Red Army. Humane attitude on the part of the [liberating] soldiers; hospitalization by the JDC organization in a convalescence home; aliya to Israel, 1958.
