German occupation, April 1941; confiscation of property; appointment of [non-Jewish] "trustees" for the Jewish stores and businesses; yellow badge; detention of his father and then his release with help from a German Army Wehrmacht man; transfer to Pristina which was under Italian rule; exile to Albania under the protection of the Italian Army until September 1943; arrival of the German Army and SS soldiers who are Bosnian Moslems, late 1943; life in hiding in a village with two Jewish families, the Faradzhi and Aruesti families, while hidden by Mufail Bicaku and his son Niazi Bicaku (later recognized as Righteous Among the Nations).
His family's return home; aliya to Israel on the "Kefalos" ship, 1948.
