Testimony of Zvi Herman Grabinski, born in Krosniewice, Poland, 1918, regarding his experiences in Roksman, Wittenberge, Auschwitz, Mauthausen and Gusen Zionist youth movement activities; displays of antisemitism before the war. Occupation of Poland; air-raids; pogroms against the Jews; executions by hanging; forced labor; "Aktions"; deportation to Roksman, November 1941; injury; treatment by a physician of Jewish origin; transfer to Wittenberge, February 1942; rebuilding the camp; Red Cross delegation; deportation to Auschwitz, June 1943; constructing the cellars in coal mines for potato storage and a cannon factory; the camp orchestra; mutual help among the inmates; Allied approach; death march; transfer to Mauthausen; many deaths in the railroad cars during the transfer; abuse; selection; transfer of skilled craftsmen (machinists) to Gusen; labor in a Messershmitt aircraft factory; physical abuse of the inmates; mass mortality; receives food parcels from the Red Cross; unsuccessful attempt of the Germans to murder the inmates in the bunker; liberation by the US Army. Meeting with Jewish Brigade soldiers; unsuccessful attempt to make aliya to Eretz Israel; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1946.
