Outbreak of the war; meeting with Jewish refugees from Poland; disbelief of the information supplied by the refugees; robbery of property; deportation of approximately 1,000 young women to Auschwitz just before Pesach (late March-early April) 1942; camp life including harsh physical labor; support and mutual help among the female inmates; transfer to the Canada Kommando after about one year; adherence to her religious faith in the camp; humane treatment by the German foreman; assigned the job of Messenger (Lauferin) for a few months; death march to Ravensbrueck; transfer to Neustadt Glewe; life in Ravensbrueck and Neustadt Glewe under the supervision of the German Army including more humane treatment and being given extra food every so often; liberation by the Red Army. Rape attempts by the Red Army soldiers; protection given by a Soviet Jewish commander; return to Czechoslovakia; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1947.
