German occupation, 10 April 1941; anti-Jewish restrictions including the yellow badge; escape to the Italian occupied zone; detention by members of the Ustasha movement; rescue by a member of the Ustasha movement; escape to Ljubljana; life in Ljubljana including being called up to present herself to the Italian authorities; move to Montiglio; life in Montiglio including relations with the Italian population; escape in the direction of Switzerland with help from an Italian escort; September 1943; joins a group of Yugoslavian officers; illegally crosses the border into Switzerland under the protection of the officers; life in Switzerland in refugee camps and in the homes of Swiss families; life in the families' homes including work in housekeeping; liberation, May 1945.
