Outbreak of the war; re-annexation to Hungary; anti-Jewish restrictions; closure of businesses; expulsion from the school; transfer to the cultural center with his parents, May 1944; hiding of valuables in a pit; deportation to a brick factory; transfer to a field in the cattle market; life in the field in the cattle market; receives knowledge regarding the Jews' fate, and his disbelief; deportation to Auschwitz; camp life; separation from his mother and his younger siblings during a selection; transfer to Kaufering; life in Kaufering including meeting German Army soldiers; receives large food portions; liberation by the US Army. Joins the Agudat Israel organization; illegal aliya attempt to Eretz Israel on the "Geulah" ship, 1947; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Israel, 1948.
