Outbreak of the war; re-annexation to Hungary; anti-Jewish restrictions; detention of his father; confiscation of Jewish property; transfer along with other Jews to the courtyard of the synagogue; deportation to a brick factory; life in the brick factory including labor in cleaning; deportation to Auschwitz, April 1944; camp life including separation from his parents; transfer to Wustegiersdorf; camp life; illness; search for food; liquidation of the camp; transfer on foot to another place; transfer to Schottenwerk; camp life including labor in a factory producing gravel; transfer of corpses to a crematory in Dernau and return to the camp; liberation by the Red Army. The Germans flee, May 1945; raid on farmers' homes; inmates' eating, and mortality; receives treatment from the Red Cross organization; return to Czechoslovakia; aliya to Israel, 1949.
