Outbreak of the war, 1939; termination of studies; selling of valuables; "Aktion" in the square, 1942; Nowy Korczyn Ghetto life in an open ghetto with several Jews and including her brother; deportation to the Sandomierz Ghetto with her brother; deportation in a train including jumping from the railroad car; receives help from Poles; escape back to the Sandomierz Ghetto with her brother; deportation of her brother to a camp; receives a warning from a German commander about an approaching "Aktion"; escape with her uncles and their daughters to the home of a non-Jewish family, the Machokowski family; life in the family's home in a dug-out bunker; liberation, 1945.
