Re-annexation to Hungary, November 1938; deportation of his father and brother to a camp, 1939; transfer of his brother from Kosice to Jasina; smuggling his brother in by the family; deportation to the Galicia area with his mother and brother, June 1941; transfer to Tluste; life in Tluste; rumors about the murder of Jews in Kamenets Podolski; crosses the border illegally and escapes back to Jasina; life in Jasina including meeting his sister; finding a hiding place in a hayloft; escape to Budapest with his mother, summer 1942; life in Budapest including transfer to an orphanage; studies in a Jewish school; German occupation, March 1944; restrictions on Jews including travel restrictions and confiscation of property; deportation to the Budapest Ghetto; ghetto life including receiving a protective pass from Raoul Wallenberg; his mother's escape to the Glass House; knowledge regarding the murder of Jews in the Danube river; liberation, January 1945.
