Life under Slovakian rule, 1939; drafted into the Slovakian Army, 1940; life as a Slovakian Army soldier in Humenne; maintenance of a kosher kitchen in his unit; training; transfer to Vranovske; transfer to Liptovsky Svaty Mikulas; life in Liptovsky Svaty Mikulas including labor building an air field; labor removing rocks from trenches; outbreak of the Slovakian National Uprising, 1944; obtains forged documents; life in a village; German occupation; escape to a forest and meeting with Jewish partisans; life with the partisans; capture by the Germans; transfer to a school building; escape; obtains forged documents in the name of Stephan Golomb; liberation. Return to the family home; life in Kapusany; move to the United States, 1948; aliya to Israel, 1984.
