Deportation of the father to a labor battalion; German occupation, 1944; deportation to the Simapuszta Ghetto; deportation with the family to Auschwitz-Birkenau; camp life; remains with his father and older brother without action; selection; escape with his brother to his father's group; transfer with his father to Buchenwald; camp life including moving boulders from place to place; transfer to Gleina camp; transfer to Rehnsdorf; camp life including finding a glasses case with a gold ring inside; exchange of the ring for a daily ration of potatoes; approach of the Red Army; deportation by train and air-raids on the railway engine; transfer in a death march to Theresiestadt, spring 1945; life in Theresiestadt; liberation.
