Testimony of Zvi Zilbershlag, born in Gura Humorului, Romania, 1930, regarding his experiences as a child in the Gura Humorului Ghetto, Atachi and Mogilev-Podolski Life in Gura Humorului before the war; unsuccessful attempts to make aliya to Eretz Israel, 1935. Meets Italian soldiers, 1940; deportation to the Gura Humorului Ghetto; Gura Humorului Ghetto life including deportation on a train, 1941; deportation to Atachi; crosses the Dniester River, including the suicide of many in the river; transfer to Mogilev-Podolski; life in Mogilev-Podolski including the death of his grandmother; rescue along with his twin brother by an acquaintance who is a physician; obtains food with his mother; barter trade; begging; baking of bread from bran and selling the bread; escape to another home; transfer of his father to forced labor in Tulchin; his father's escape back; witness' bar-mitzvah; cruelty to refugees by Romanian gendarmes; death of Jews; activities of Soviet partisans; liberation by the Red Army. Move to Briceni; life in Briceni including attending a Soviet school; move to Paris; aliya to Israel, 1949.
