Testimony of Felicia Lici (Sternberg) Nesher, born in Cernauti, Romania, 1936, regarding her experiences in the Cernauti Ghetto and the Luchinets Ghetto Well-to-do family. Deportation to the Cernauti Ghetto; Cernauti Ghetto life; her father's possibility to be rescued from a deportation due to his profession; refusal by her father to be rescued from the deportation; deportation to Transnistria; Luchinets Ghetto life; her father's departure from the borders of the ghetto in order to obtain food; murder of her father by Romanian gendarmes; witness' work leading cows to pasture for a Ukrainian woman; transfer of the witness' sister, who was 11 years old, to labor mining coal; her mother's searches for food; flogging of her mother by Romanian policemen; mortality due to typhus disease; hides from gendarmes, and fear of being raped; removal of children from the camp with help from the JDC organization; liberation by Soviet partisans. Return on foot to Cernauti; her mother's move to Galicia in order to locate her parents and the family's property; threat on their life; move to Bucharest; aliya to Israel, 1950.
