Deportation of his father to Dachau; help from Jewish families; children help with agricultural work; Kristallnacht and the burning of the synagogue; breaking-in of homes; Jewish families are hidden in the metal workshop of a non-Jew in the village; transfer of Jews to Frankfurt; separation from his mother and sister, and the witness is placed in an orphanage; transfer to Switzerland in a group of children, January 1939; life in a dormitory in Heiden; release of his father from Dachau; maintains contact with his parents and sister by letters, until 1942; life in the dormitory including maintaining his attachment to Jewish tradition; activities in the Swiss Scouts movement.
Aliya to Eretz Israel with the Gordonia movement, September 1945; receives details regarding the death of his father in Majdanek.
