Testimony of Georg Irzhi Turk, born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, 1932, regarding his experiences as a child in Prague and Theresienstadt Life before the war; secular family; relations with the non-Jewish population; unsuccessful attempt to make aliya to Eretz Israel, 1938. German occupation, 1940; anti-Jewish restrictions; concentration of the Jews in the western side of the city on the other side of the river; deportation with his family to a house in the center of the city; life in the house with other children; deportation of Jews to an assembly point, 1944; transfer to Theresienstadt; camp life with children; observance of the Pesach holiday; arrival of Jews to the camp on marches; help given to the Jews; yearnings for his mother who is in a hospital in Prague; liberation. Return to Prague, 05 May 1945; life in Prague including his reunion with his mother; Soviet occupation, 09 May 1945; receives treatment from the JDC organization and the Red Cross organization; life in Teplice including rehabilitation; enlists in the Jewish Brigade; military training; aliya to Israel on the "Caserta" ship, 1949.
