Testimony of Chana Henia (Zandberg) Yanai, born in Lodz, Poland, 1935, regarding her experiences as a child in Lodz, the Konskie Ghetto, assumes a false identity in Poznan and Radom Outbreak of the war; loses contact with her father; escape with her mother to her grandparents in Konskie; her grandfather's beard and side locks are pulled off in the street; establishment of the Konskie Ghetto; ghetto life including entry of additional families to their home; rumors of murder; receives food from non-Jews; quick farewell from her mother and escape with her aunt to the protection of a Polish pharmacist's sister; life in Poznan in the home of non-Jews using the name Anna Bezoshka; betrayal by a neighbor and escape to the pharmacists home in Radom; hides her Jewish identity from the Polish pharmacists wife; expected deportation of Radom Jews; her aunt is smuggled to Warsaw after being informed on; death of the Pole; life with the pharmacists wife until the liberation, January 1945. Move to an orphanage in Lublin; life in Italy including education in the Salvino castle; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1947; education with Youth Aliya.
