Testimony of Esther (Zurawska) Kfir, born in Brzesc-Kujawski, Poland, 1930, regarding her experiences in the Lodz Ghetto, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Ravensbrueck and Muehlhausen From a traditional family; attends a Beit Yaakov school. German occupation, September 1939; kidnapping of her father and brother for labor; deportation to the Lodz Ghetto with her mother and younger brother, September 1940; her mother's work in a laundry; her mother's work in a sewing workshop; information regarding the deaths of her father and brother; ghetto life; hiding in the family pantry; kidnapped while standing in line for food; deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau; transfer to Ravensbrueck; transfer for labor in Muehlhausen until late 1944; death march; liberation in Bergen-Belsen, April 1945. Life in the Bergen-Belsen DP camp; typhus; move to Blankensee with a group of children; preparations for aliya to Eretz Israel with soldiers of the Jewish Brigade and Jewish Agency representatives, including Reuma Weizman; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1946.
