Testimony of Marcel Dolberg, born in Cernauti, Romania, 1927, regarding his experiences in the Cernauti Ghetto Life before the war; attends a local Romanian school; Bnei Akiva activities. Soviet occupation, 1940; his father's disappearance and murder by Romanians; German occupation, June 1941; anti-Jewish decrees including yellow badge; deportation to the Cernauti Ghetto with his mother; ghetto life; deportation of relatives to Transnistria; work hauling sacks of flour; his uncle's death from cold; certificates issued allowing the witness and his mother to remain in Cernauti; in hiding in a factory; Romanian soldiers guarding in the ghetto; receives help from Bucharest; disappearance of relatives across the Bug river; typhus; burning of the Great Synagogue in Cernauti; behavior of Ukrainians towards the Jews and robbery of valuables; liberation. Completion of his studies; aliya to Israel with his mother, 1951.
