Annexation to Hungary, 1939; life under Hungarian rule; move to Mako, 1943; German occupation, March 1944; transfer of the family business to a non-Jew to prevent its confiscation; deportation of the family to the Mateszalka Ghetto; transfer to the Mako Ghetto, May 1944; transfer to a brick factory in Szeged; deportation to Wiener Neustadt; camp life including labor clearing snow and rubble; medical help from the camp commandant; escape from the camp; in hiding in a cellar in Wiener Neustadt; liberation by the Red Army, April 1945. Aliya to Eretz Israel, 1946.
