Outbreak of the war, 1939; illness of his father; German occupation; restrictions on the Jews including the yellow badge; draft of men to forced labor including his brothers; shearing beards of Jews by the SS; Judenrat activities; deportation of his brother to the Gestapo headquarters in Krakow; escape of his brother; deportation of the Jews to an open area; guarding of the Jews by the Jewish police and the Polish police; escape and in hiding in a Polish house; deportation of the Jews to Belzec; capture by Jewish and Polish policemen; deportation to prison; deportation to Plaszow; camp life including escape attempts; destruction of the Jewish cemetery; hospitalization with pneumonia; transfer to Kielce; transfer to Ostrowiec; camp life including trying to maintain a religious life; transfer to Auschwitz; camp life; transfer to Jaworzno; transfer to Neudachs; camp life including labor in a coal mine; death march to Gleiwitz; transfer to Buchenwald; camp life; liberation, April 1945.
