Testimony of Yechiel Varkel, born in Dabrowica, Poland, 1915, regarding his experiences in the Sarny Ghetto, in hiding, a forest and with the partisans Life before the war; attends a Yavne school; Beitar activities; meets Ze'ev Jabotinsky; aliya of her brother to Eretz Israel, 1931. Outbreak of the war, 1939; German occupation, 1941; deportation to the Sarny Ghetto; ghetto life including deportation to an open area and digging pits; shooting of Jews by the German soldiers and the Ukrainians; in hiding in a non-Jewish neighbors home; escape and hidden by a religious Christian; escape to a forest; joins the Polish Jewish partisans; life with the partisans including sabotage activities on the railroad tracks; searches for food; typhus; meets Red Army soldiers and receives help; liberation, 1945. Marriage; aliya to Israel, 1949.
