Transfer to an orphanage in Czestochowa, October 1945; unsuccessful attempt by a Jewish family to adopt him; move to an orphanage; attends a Polish school; transfer to Krakow, 1948; life in Krakow including attending a Jewish school; move to an orphanage in Rytro, 1954; aliya to Israel with help from the Jewish community, 1957.
