Testimony of Adolf Shimko, born in Topolcany, Czechoslovakia, 1926, regarding his experiences in Topolcany, Auschwitz, Sered, Birkenau and Friedland Life before the war; son in a traditional family; father's livelihood from commerce. Deportation to Sered camp, September 1944; deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau, October 1944; transfer as a carpenter to Friedland, December 1944; camp life including labor logging trees and a lumber shed; liberation by the Red Army, 10 May 1945. Return to Slovakia; the family's possessions are returned to them; nationalization of property by the Soviet authorities; aliya to Israel, 1966.
