Testimony of Marta (Iechiel) Aruch, born in Thessaloniki, Greece, 1927, regarding her experiences in the Thessaloniki Ghetto, Auschwitz-Birkenau, a death march and Bergen-Belsen Life before the war; the Greek-Italian war, 1940; German occupation, April 1941; decrees including the yellow badge; dismassal of her father from his work in the port; closure of the Thessaloniki Ghetto, 1942; deportation to Auschwitz-Birkenau; camp life including labor digging ditches and typhus; transfer to the "Shoe Kommando" and labor separating shoes; death march to Bergen-Belsen; liberation by the British Army, April 1945. Return to Thessaloniki; aliya training in Athens; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1945.
