Soviet occupation, 1940; German occupation, 1941; decrees including the yellow badge and deportation to the Cernauti Ghetto; deportation to Chetvertinovka, 1942; camp life including typhus and dysentery; transfer to Demidovka, autumn 1942; escape to Bershad; camp life including education and a choir; escape to an orphanage in Balta; liberation by the Red Army, summer 1944. Return home; joins Gordonia's aliya training; aliya to Israel, 1950.
