Decrees including ban on owning land, 1938; plans to make aliya to Eretz Israel; Soviet occupation, 1939; life under Soviet occupation including attending a Soviet school and his father's labor as an agronomist in a factory; German occupation, 1941; deportation to the Cernauti Ghetto; deportation to Transnistria, 1942; transfer to Marculesti Sat; life in Marculesti Sat including typhus; transfer to Obodovka Ghetto; ghetto life including life in a stable; transfer to Bershad Ghetto; ghetto life including setting up an orphanage and labor in a furniture factory; liberation, 1944.
