Annexation to Hungary, 1938; deportation of his father to a labor camp, 1941; deportation of the witness, his mother and siblings to Poland, 1941; escape from the train back to Stredni Apsa; hidden by his uncle; escape to Romania; escape to Budapest by train; turns to the JDC for help; fostered by a childless family; Allied forces air-raids on Budapest, 1943; drafted into a labor camp; drafted into a Hungarian Army unit, 1944; escape; drafted into a Hungarian Army unit, 1944; escape and return to Budapest; Dror activities; transfer to Romania; in hiding in the home of a Jew in Bucharest.
Preparation of an aliya group with help from Yoel Palgi, the emissary; return to Stredni Apsa; move to Italy; aliya training at the Haganah enlistment camp; military training camp in northern Italy, 1946; aliya to Eretz Israel on the ships, "Albertina" and "Shabtai Lozinsky", 1947; settles in Kibbutz Givat Brenner; participation in the War of Independence.
