Outbreak of the war, 1939; Soviet occupation; German occupation, 1941; deportation to the Cernauti Ghetto; transfer to Mogilev-Podolski via Kirnasovka; life in Mogilev-Podolski including life in an orphanage; liberation by the Red Army, 1944. Return to Cernauti; move to Botosani; joins Bnei Akiva; aliya attempt to Eretz Israel with Youth Aliyah via Yugoslavia and Italy on the ship, "Haganah", 1946; detention in Atlit; release; attends Mikvah Israel school; enlists in the IDF, 1950; life in Israel including work for the IDF as a civilian.
