Outbreak of the war, 1939; life under Hungarian fascists rule; decrees and restrictions on the Jews including ban on study in school; deportation of Jews without Hungarian citizenship to the border; death of the deportees; learns dressmaking in a nearby town, 1943; deportation to the Nyiregyhaza Ghetto, Pesach (08 April) 1944; ghetto life; disappearance of her father; deportation to a farm and its enclosure by gendarmes; life on the farm including attitudes of the gendarmes to the Jews; deportation in freight trains to Auschwitz; selection by Josef Mengele; camp life including scabies; meets the camp orchestra; life near the Gypsy camp; selection and transfer to Bergen-Belsen; transfer to Markkleeberg; camp life including labor in a weapons factory; liquidation of the camp under German Army control.
Move to Czechoslovakia; encounters Red Army soldiers; harsh behaviour of the Red Army soldiers; aliya training; marriage and gives birth; unsuccessful aliya attempt to Eretz Israel on the ship, "Knesset Israel", 1947; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Israel, 1948.
