Testimony of Dan Marian, born in Storojinet, Romania, 1935, regarding his experiences in the Storojinet Ghetto, Mogilev-Podolski and the Bershad Ghetto Only son in a traditional well-to-do family; his father is a physician. Soviet occupation, 1940; German occupation and Romanian occupation, summer 1941; in hiding of the family in a bakery; abuse by Romanians; concentration of the Jews in the town center; warning shots fired by Romanian soldiers; deportation of the family to the Storojinet Ghetto until October 1941; concentration of Jews in the train station; deportation to Yampol; transfer to Mogilev-Podolski; transfer to the Bershad Ghetto; his father is a member on the medical committee that chose Jews for labor; ghetto life and typhus; transfer with 200 children by the Red Cross to Vijnita, January 1944; riots against Jews; draft of his father to help Polish hospitals in Warsaw, late 1940. Move with his mother to Bucharest; move of his father to Bucharest for a year's work in an orphanage; aliya to Eretz Israel with Aliya Bet onboard the "Max Nordau", 1946; detention in Atlit.
