Testimony of Pinchas Filip Flaks, born in Antwerp, Belgium, 1928, regarding his experiences in Rivesaltes and a dormitory in Versoix Life before the war. German occupation, May 1940; escape to Paris; escape to southern France; help from a Jewish assistance organization; move to the ORT dormitory in La Roche, late 1941; warning from French policemen regarding deportation of children; escape to the mountains of those designated for deportation; joins the Maquis; deportation of a group of youths from the dormitory; transfer to Rivesaltes; meets with his parents; deportation of his parents to Drancy, Rosh Hashanah, 1942; release from Rivesaltes as part of an agreement with the Red Cross; return to La Roche; contact with cousins in hiding in Lyon and meeting with them; escape to Switzerland with help from smugglers, January 1943; attitude of the Swiss police; life in a Youth Aliyah dormitory in Versoix; end of the war. Aliya to Eretz Israel, 1945.
