Soviet occupation, 1940; deportation of wealthy families; Romanian occupation, 1941; abuse of Jews; murder of Jews in the vicinity; robbery of Jewish owned property and gold; deportation to Transnistria; transfer on foot to Mogilev-Podolski after crossing the Dniester River; transfer on foot to Balki; life in Balki and labor for the railroad company; labor in the surrounding villages in exchange for a bribe; mutual help in the family; death of her father, 1942; liberation by the Red Army, 1944. Return home, summer 1944; marriage, 1946; aliya to Israel, 1972.
