Correspondence regarding the sisters Henrietta "Jet" Sitters-van Praag and Margaretha "Gre" van Praag after their capture by the Nazis in Amsterdam and before their deportation from the Westerbork camp, 1942 - Undated letter from Johnny to Hilda, Lou and Jopie (who were apparently in hiding) regarding the capture of their mother and her sister Gre during a round-up in Amsterdam, and the lobbying of the son, Harry, with the Joodse Raad (Jewish Council) to rescue them with very little chance of rescuing them (pp. 1-2); - Menu for a festive meal in honor of Jet's 80th [?] birthday with a photograph (apparently of the mother of Jet Sitters-van Praag) (pp. 3-4), 27 May 1927; - Postcard sent by Jet and Gre to Jet's son, Harry Sitters, informing him that they are being held at Adama van Scheltemaplein in Amsterdam, and they are awaiting their deportation to an unknown destination (pp.5-6); - Copy of a letter sent from Westerbork to Annie by Gre informing Annie that Gre did not receive the parcel and the blankets; she and Jet have lost hope because the Joodse Raad people have told them that Harry's exemption is not applicable to his mother, Jet (p. 7); - Farewell postcards sent from Westerbork by Jet and Gre just before their deportation; Jet wrote to her son, Harry Sitters, that the Joodse Raad people in the camp told them that on their arrival in Poland they should ask for their blankets; Gre, too, wrote Joh. van Praag regarding the blankets and expressed hope that she would not be separated from her sister en route to Poland (pp. 8-11), 16 October 1942; - Letter from Johnny to Lou informing him that his mother and Gre have been deported from Westerbork despite all his efforts; report with hints regarding his underground activities (p. 12).
