Soviet occupation, June 1940; arrival of refugees from Poland; German occupation; deportation to the Cernauti Ghetto; deportation to Atachi; life in Atachi including the behavior of the Romanian gendarmes; confiscation of valuables; transfer on foot to a military camp in Mogilev-Podolski; life in Mogilev-Podolski including his mother's labor as a cook and the witness' labor sawing lumber; confrontations with non-Jewish children; evacuation of the camp and deportation to a ghetto; ghetto life; injury; coordination of a school and studies in the ghetto; meets with partisans; German retreat.
