German occupartion, 1939; learns at home; studies at a school in Malacky; decrees; antisemitic propaganda; deportation of his mother's parents to Auschwitz; escape with his parents and grandfather to a forest; in hiding; move to the Hechik family; life with the family; liberation by the Red Army, May 1945. Return to Prichne; return to Malacky; studies and work; joins Hashomer Hatzair youth movement; aliya to Israel with Youth Aliya onboard the "Galilah", April 1949; absorption on Kibbutz Hamaapil; aliya of his parents and sister; move to Kibbutz Ein Hashofet.
