Deportation of his father to Poland as a Polish citizen, 1938; move to Krakow to his father; illegally crossing the border back to Czechoslovakia; life with his grandparents; death of his grandfather, 1941; deportation to Theresienstadt, 1942; camp life in the attic of the Magdeburg barracks; deportation of his grandmother to Treblinka; help from Fredy Hirsch who was in charge of the youth in the camp; transfer to Auschwitz-Birkenau, 1944; selections; transfer to Kaufering; transfer to Landsberg, 1944; camp life including labor in a construction company; liquidation of the camp; transfer to Dachau on a coal train, 1945; escape from the deportation train to a forest; Allied forces move him to the St. Autilien monastery to recuperate; liberation.
Return home; move to Prague; aliya training the Dror movement; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1948.
