Esther Schnabl

Testimony of Esther (Shtekler) Shnabel, born in Ceske Budejovice, Czechoslovakia, 1923, regarding her experiences living with a priest and on a farm in Denmark Secular Zionist family; her father is a bank clerk; move to Jihlava, 1931; attends a non-Jewish school. Move to Prague with the onset of the German occupation; joins the Maccabi movement; dismissal of her father from his work; aliya of her parents to Eretz Israel with certificates, winter 1939; move to Denmark with Youth Aliya, October 1939; work on a farm; life with a Protestant priest; joins a Youth Aliya group. Aliya to Eretz Israel via the Soviet Union, Turkey and Lebanon; life on Kibbutz Kinneret.
