Testimony of Naftali Berger, born in Nagyszolos, Hungary, 1929, regarding his experiences in the Nagyszollos Ghetto, Auschwitz and Kaufering Life before the war; relations with the Hungarian population; school education in Hebrew; his father's activities in the Zionist movement. Outbreak of the war; change in the attitude of the Hungarian population towards the Jews; displays of antisemitism; anti-Jewish legislation; his father's livelihood is cut-off; alternative work; German occupation, 1944; deportation to the Nagyszolos Ghetto; deportation to Auschwitz on the eve of Pesach; camp life; transfer to Kaufering; camp life including labor logging trees, laying railroad tracks and building a subterranean weapons factory; cutting down of food rations; typhus; labor unloading cargo from trains; cannibalism; approach of the front; death march in the direction of Munich; liberation by the US Army, April 1945. Rehabilitation; return to Nagyszolos; aliya to Eretz Israel with Aliya Bet, 1946.
