Outbreak of the war, 1941; escape to Kiev; joins a group of orphaned children; sets sail on a ship on the Volga river to the Saratov area; life in various places including harsh physical labor; drafted into the Polish Army; release.
Joins Kibbutz Dror; move to Bad Reichenhall DP camp; training as a radio operator; aliya attempt on the ship, "Tirat Zvi", 1947; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Eretz Israel with a group of children; life in Kfar Yona; enlists in the IDF.
