Outbreak of the war, 1939; life under Soviet occupation; German occupation, 1941; deportation to forced labor; labor in a carpentry shop for the Germans; extermination of the Jews of Jasionowka, 1943; escape to a forest; construction of a bunker; life in the bunker; discovery of the bunker by a Polish shepherd; escape; hides in a pigsty; liberation by the Red Army, 1944. Return to Jasionowka; antisemitism and riots; Jews organize themselves into self-defense groups; en route to Eretz Israel via Austria and Italy with help from the JDC and UNRRA, 1946; aliya attempt on the ship, "Kaf Gimel Yordey Hasira"; detention in Cyprus; aliya to Eretz Israel, 1946.
