Correspondence with Julius Orlow in Zurich regarding the lives of the Jews deported from Sofia to Lom including travel restrictions and photographs (p. 245), 1943-1944; persecution of the Jews in Bulgaria; a call from the Red Cross for help; 2. Correspondence with Julius Orlow and personalities and organization bureaus including those in Istanbul, Paris, London, New York and Jerusalem as Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) representative in Bulgaria, 1943-1948, regarding the following subjects: - The situation of the Jews in Bulgaria even after 09 September 1944; - Assistance to Jews in Belgrade and Hungary including the deportation and murder of the Jews of Pech (p.82); - Establishment of a JDC committee in Bulgaria and its activities; - Friction among the activists in Bulgaria (within the following organizations: the Central Consistory, the Sofia community leaders, the Jewish Socialists and Chazit Hamoledet) and Barlas' visit in Sofia due to this friction; - Requests for exit visas to Turkey; requests to the government offices in Bulgaria to protect the interests of the Jews; - Letters of recommendation and appreciation from the JDC for Marcus' activities, 1948-1949.
