Testimony of Ahuva (Davidovich) Elek, born in Kosice, Czechoslovakia, 1920, regarding her experiences in Kosice, Presov, Bratislava and Budapest Life before the war; attends a Jewish elementary school and a Hungarian high school; Jewish community in Kosice; Hashomer Hatzair activities. Re-annexation to Hungary; life under Hungarian rule; deportation to Presov; meets her father; life under fascist rule in Slovakia; joins the Hashomer Hatzair administrative committee in Bratislava; agricultural training camp until late March 1942; escape to Budapest with help from the Hashomer Hatzair movement; arrest by the police; transfer to an assembly point; release effected by her uncle; return to Kosice; life under police supervision; labor in an orphanage. Aliya to Eretz Israel via Romania, Istanbul, Syria and Lebanon, January 1944; move to Kibbutz HaOgen.
