From a religious financially secure family with many children; her father works in a shoe workshop.
Re-annexation to Hungary, 1942; termination of studies; her mother's death, 1942; nationalization of property by the Romanian government; German occupation, 1942; deportation of the family to the Dragomiresti Ghetto; ghetto life; deportation to Auschwitz, 1944; camp life, including labor spreading the ashes of the victims over the flowerbeds; transfer to Germany; labor in a factory in the Schoppau forest; transfer to Theresienstadt, 1945; meets her sister; liberation by the Red Army.
Return home; reunion with her brother; joins aliya training; aliya attempt via Yugoslavia; detention in a camp at Atlit, 1946; joins Kibbutz Yavneh; starts a family.
