German occupation; concentration of the Jews in the Lwow Ghetto, 1941; selections; deportation of Jews; escape; deaths of members of his family including his mother in Janowska and Belzec, 1942; life in his Uncle Shimon's house; his father's labor laying railroad tracks; search for food in garbage cans; escape with his father to the Rzepecki family in the center of Lwow, 1943; change of the family name to Kocowski; in hiding; obtains forged documents from Mrs. Apolonia Rzapecki; learns principles of Christianity; help from his rescuer's son; Soviet Air Force air-raids, May 1944; in hiding in a bunker; murder of Apolonia's husband.
Move to Krakow; attends school; joins a Gordonia kibbutz in Dzierzoniow, 1948; move to Berlin; arrest; life in prison in Wroclaw; release, 1950; studies at the technical college in Wroclaw; drafted to the Polish Army, 1953; release, 1956; aliya to Israel, 1959.
