Documentation of the Chef der Sipo und SD - Umwandererzentralstelle (UWZ) Posen: Reports regarding preparations for and implementation of the first stage of deportations of Jews and Poles from the Warthegau (Nahplan I), November-December 1939, and experience gained from this first stage, 1940 In the file: - Report submitted 26 January 1940 regarding the deportation of Jews and Poles from the Reichsgau Wartheland, and experience gained from the actual deportations in the areas of organizational preparations; basic directives and instructions, the definition of the groups to be deported, aims of the deportation, and the offices and authorities involved in the organization and implementation; - Further experience gained from the deportations listed in the report, 26 January 1940: a summary of already issued directives, understanding the need for inspections, details of Nahplan I, solutions for problems such as delays, technical problems and more, and the registration and checking of deportees; - Definitions of Stammesdeutsch (the German tribe), Volksdeutsche (ethnic Germans born outside of the Reich) and Aufstaendische (rebellious people [of German origins]); - Applications for acknowledgement as Volksdeutsche by people accused of being active in the Polish national movement or involvement in anti-German activities; work of the Pruefstelle (testing); difficulties caused by offices or authorities in the Generalgouvernement; - Report regarding preparations for and implementation of deportations from Kreisfreie Staedte (certain cities) and various Landkreise (administrative districts) in the Warthegau, 14 January 1940, including basic directives concerning preparations and implementation, offices and authorities involved in the organization and implementation; preparations made from 30 November-18 December 1939 for transports to Lodz and cooperation with the authorities there; - Report submitted 19 January 1940 regarding preparations for the deportation of Jews and Poles from the Wartheland Reichsgau, 02 December-17 December 1939: Nahplan I, involving the deportation of 80,000 Poles and Jews, commencement of preparations, 12 November 1939, problems that occurred during deportations from Lodz, involvement of authorities such as the Landraete (district administrators) and mayors, difficulties due to lack of trains and delays, and Polish train personnel accused of sabotage; - Survey regarding the notification of Oberbuergermeister (mayors) and Landraete concerning deportations planned for 01-17 December 1939.
