Testimony of Pinchas Jaskierowicz, born in Zawiercie, Poland, 1924, regarding his experiences in Zawiercie and labor camps in Germany Harsh economic situation and difficult childhood; learns in a "heder"; antisemitism before the war. Outbreak of the war, 1939; German occupation; his capture on the street and deportation to forced labor in Ebensee, Gruenheide and Markstaedt camps; labor in a Krupp factory; suffering, hunger and lack of medical treatment; liberation by the US Army, 1945. Hospitalization; meets Jewish Brigade soldiers; move to Modena, Italy; help from UNRRA; aliya attempt to Eretz Israel on the "Chaim Arlozorov" ship, 1946; detention in Cyprus; release, 1947; enlists in the Palmach and combat in the battles for Latrun; rehabilitation; starts a family.
