Joint testimony of Sarlotta (Salomon) Malter and Rozalia (Salomon) Mermelshtein, twins, born in Onok, 1935, regarding their experiences in Ilonokujfalu, Orsava, the Mukacevo Ghetto and Mengele's twins barracks in Auschwitz Prosperous, traditional farmer family with six children; life in Ilonokujfalu where Ukrainians, Hungarians and Czechs lived with 70 Jewish families. Entry of the Hungarians, 1939; termination of their first grade education; round-up and deportation of the Jews for a few weeks to homes of Jews who were deported from Orsava, and help from remaining local Jews; deportation to Mukacevo Ghetto; deportation on trains to Auschwitz; transfer to Mengele's twins barracks; check-ups; death of their mother from disease; death of their older twin siblings; the younger twins are transferred to Birkenau; entry of the Red Army and rescue of the children. Transfer to Katowice monastery; return home; reunion with their oldest sister who survived; receiving part of their belongings; finishing high school and marriage; aliya to Eretz Israel, absorption.
