Testimony of Shlomo Skotchilas, born in Lodz, 1921; regarding his experiences in Warsaw; in Skarzysko Kamienna labor camp; in Czestochowa; and in Buchenwald, Flossberg; and Mauthausen camps Childhood in Alexandrow, and life until the outbreak of the war; deportation of all the Jews to Glowno, January 1940; trip with his parents, six siblings, and extended family to Warsaw; life in a school; his parents' deaths from starvation, 1942; deportation to Majdanek; transfer to Skarzysko Kamienna; plumbing work in Plant A; preferential treatment by Weber, the German supervisor; approach of the Red Army, 1944, and transfer of the plant and the workers to Czestochowa, from there to Buchenwald, and from there to Flossenberg; continued labor in an ammunitions factory; air-raids on the site, and transfer to Mauthausen; liberation by the Allied Forces, 1945. Knowledge that his entire family had perished; aliya to Israel, 20 March 1949.
