Well-to-do-family, owners of a flour mill in Lipcani; move to Bojan after entry of Russians, 1940.
Avoiding deportation to Siberia by the Russians; evasion of farmers’ riots; hiding in attic; escape in middle of night and wanderings to Cernauti; entry into the ghetto; various forms of forced labor; deportation via train to Atachi, autumn 1941 and then to Mogilev Podolski; life in the camp without food and sanitary conditions; lice, typhus and other infectious diseases; labor in a metal factory; liberation.
Volunteered to the Red Army; aliya to Eretz Israel on illegal immigrant ship "Haganah", 1946; participation in Israel's War of Independence; life in Israel.
