Annexation to the Soviet Union; work as a cow herder in a village in the Kolomyja area; German occupation; deportation to the Tluste Ghetto; ghetto life including "Aktions"; murder of his parents, 1943; liquidation of the ghetto; deportation to Różanówka; camp life including agricultural labor; liberation by the Red Army, 1944.
Air-raid by German Air Force; injury; hospitalization; move to Czortkow; joins Hashomer Hatzair; aliya to Eretz Israel with the Bericha via Czechoslovakia, Germany and France, 1945.
